Dentures Q & A

Will my new dentures give me a natural looking and beautiful smile?
Absolutely, we provide exceptionally natural looking dentures, customized to your needs and color shade preference. We work with you using a smile style guide to design custom dentures that can help to restore your warm, natural and beautiful smile. We take into consideration your personality, ethnicity and physical appearance when designing your new smile. You have the freedom to choose the color, length, shape and size of each tooth.

Are there different options for dentures?
Yes, the technologies available to produce long lasting and beautiful dentures have tremendously improved. We are able to provide premium-quality traditional dentures as well as implant supported dentures. Implant supported dentures provide for a great fit and a secure bite. There are a lot of variations with dentures, including the quality of framework and teeth used to make the denture. We use premium grade materials throughout the entire process of making a denture to give you a natural looking and beautiful smile.

Why should I replace my old dentures if I can still eat with them?
Old dentures and their teeth wear down over time, which could actually shorten the dimensions of your face making you look older and more wrinkled. It is amazing to see how designing a new, form fitting denture can improve a person’s smile and facial personality. The wearing down of old dentures can also cause chewing food to be less effective, causing digestion to be more difficult. New dentures give your bite back, and make eating easier and more enjoyable.

Can you fix my existing dentures?
In most cases, existing dentures can be repaired. If a tooth and/or teeth become loose, or the alignment of the teeth are slightly off, repairs and/or adjustments can be easily made to correct the problem. There are some instances where it is in your best interest to consider replacing them. Over the years, dentures wear and become discolored so new dentures provide for a more comforting fit and brighter smile.

How much do dentures cost?
This is a tough question to provide a single answer. We have all seen ads for same day, inexpensive dentures as well as dentures that cost a few thousand dollars. The cost of dentures is more than likely related to the quality of denture you are receiving. Dentures can be looked at much like car models. You can by the economy, mid-grade, or premium version of a denture based on the materials, labs, and dentists used to produce and place them. With that being said, you can expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars (economy version) to over a thousand dollars (mid-line/premium versions) per denture. Keep in mind that your dentures will become an integral part of how your smile represents you, and a functioning part of eating which we sometimes take for granted. At our Blankenbeckler Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer mid-line and premium dentures.
